Chukwuemekas score four of Aston Villa's eight goals in PL 2 win over Stoke City
Published: September 28, 2021Caleb Chukwuemeka and his younger brother Carney Chukwuemeka were clinical as Aston Villa demolished Stoke City 8-0 in a Premier League 2 clash at Clayton Wood Training Ground on Monday night, with both scoring a pair of goals for the visitors.
Mark Delaney opted to name a strong squad, handing starts to the Chukwuemeka brothers who have played for Aston Villa's first team this season, and a third player of Nigerian descent in Tim Iroegbunam also started for the young Lions.
After an own goal gave Aston Villa the lead, Jaden Philogene-Bidace doubled the advantage after he was set up by Carney Chukwuemeka in the 37th minute.
Aston Villa effectively killed the game as a contest by the end of the first half with Caleb and Carney getting on the scoresheet.
Five minutes into the second half, Carney got his second goal of the game before Caleb made it 6-0 at minute 55 with Iroegbunam providing the assist.
Caleb has flourished since his move to Aston Villa in August, scoring in three of the five matches he has played in the Premier League 2.
The former Northampton Town wonderkid was on target vs Fulham U23s and followed that up by netting a hat-trick against West Brom and then hit a brace in his latest match at Stoke City, taking his tally to six.
Caleb Chukwuemeka made his senior debut for Aston Villa off the bench in a Carabao Cup clash against Barrow on August 24.
