Man City product, eligible for Nigeria & England, hints at switching allegiance to Germany
Published: October 18, 2021Manchester City academy product Felix Nemcha could follow in the footsteps of his elder brother, Lukas, by switching his international allegiance from England to Germany.
The 21-year-old also qualifies for a third nation Nigeria through his father but the Nigerian Federation are lagging behind the Europeans in the race for his services.
Felix Nmecha, who turned 21 last week, is provisionally cap-tied to England and has represented the Young Lions in the past three years after previously playing non-binding games for his country of birth, Germany.
There are no barriers to the promising Wolfsburg midfielder changing his association as he has not played competitively for the senior teams of Nigeria and England.
Speaking to Kicker, Nmecha said : "I already have something in my head. It could be that I will play for Germany again.
"There is contact with the DFB. But it is not yet time to talk about it."
Nmecha made his Bundesliga debut in Wolfsburg's 2-0 loss to Taiwo Awoniyi's Union Berlin on Saturday, coming off the bench for the final seven minutes.
