EPL wrap : Olise starting debut; super-sub Dennis involved in 3 goals; Ekong booked, Iwobi subbed in
Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of Nigeria-eligible players that were in action for their respective clubs in the English Premier League on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

At Selhurst Park, Super Eagles target Michael Olise made his starting debut for Crystal Palace as they played out a fourth consecutive draw, sharing the spoils with Newcastle United in a 1-1 draw, the Magpies' first game since manager Steve Bruce was relieved of his duties.

Another dual-eligible player on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation in Eberechi Eze was not included in the Eagles matchday 20 as he is still recovering from a long-term injury but he isn't far away from returning to action having started to train with the first team.

Christian Benteke had a really good chance to give the Eagles the lead in the 21st minute when he hit the left post with a header after a cross from Olise.

After missing the first half sitter, the Belgian made no mistake in the 56th minute, heading home for 1-0, but Callum Wilson leveled things up with a magnificent finish nine minutes later.

Shortly after the equaliser, Olise went off with Ivorian winger Wilfried Zaha coming on to replace him.

At Goodison Park, Rafa Benitez's Everton were thrashed 5-2 by Watford, the Hornets coming from behind twice before sealing a win.

Super Eagles assistant captain William Troost-Ekong made his ninth consecutive start in the division, Emmanuel Dennis replaced Ismaïla Sarr on 64 minutes, while Everton's Alex Iwobi came on in the 77th minute.

A minute to half-time, Troost-Ekong was booked for pushing an Everton player after a free-kick was awarded, and Dennis joined the center half in the book for a late challenge on Richarlison in the 70th minute.

Goals from Toffees duo Tom Davies and Richarlison were cancelled out by Joshua King and Juraj Kucka, and there was a remarkable twist as Dennis set up the Norwegian to make it 3-2 in the 80th minute.

Dennis had a chance to score a fourth goal for Watford but was denied by a brilliant save from Jordan Pickford.

Three minutes from time, King finished from close range after he was assisted again by super sup Dennis, who then added more gloss to the scoreline when he slotted home in the first minute of second half stoppage time.

At St. Mary's Stadium, former Arsenal schoolboy Nathan Tella was a non-playing substitute as Southampton were held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley.

Two players previously on the books of Chelsea, Armando Broja the loanee and Valentino Livramento the permanent signing, saw their goals cancelled out by Cornet.
