First squad involvement for 18-year-old Nigerian GK as Celtic earn win vs Ferencvaros
London-born Nigerian goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi was a surprise inclusion in Glasgow Celtic's matchday squad in their 3-2 win over Hungarian opponents Ferencváros in a Europa League clash on Thursday night.

Tobi is the younger brother of 2021 Super Eagles invitee Joshua Oluwayemi and spent his formative years as a footballer at the Tottenham Hotspur academy before shifting to the Hoops in February 2019.

The game against Ferencváros was the first time in his career he has been named in a matchday squad for a senior game.

Wearing the number 71 on the back of his jersey, Oluwayemi and former Nigeria U23 invitee Osaze Uroghide were not utilized off the bench by Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

The 18-year-old glovesman has played non-binding games for England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels.

Against Ferencváros, Oluwayemi was third choice in the pecking order of goalkeepers, behind the experienced Joe Hart and Scott Bain.

Japanese striker Kyogo fired home the opener after one minute but the Hungarians leveled matters after an own goal by Josip Juranovic at minute 11, and then Jota restored Celtic's one-goal advantage in the 23rd minute.

In the second half, Liel Abada netted Celtic's third goal of the night and Uzuni pulled one back to set up a nervy final four minutes but the visitors were able to hold on to a victory.
