Royal Spanish Football Federation make move to beat Nigeria to teenage Man Utd striker
The Royal Spanish Football Federation have made a move to beat their Nigerian counterparts to teenage Manchester United striker Victor Musa Aigbomian, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Spain U16 boss David Gordo has named Musa on a 23-man roster for the upcoming Alfaz de Pí International Tournament.

It is believed that this is a strategic call-up to the Spain squad considering that Musa is the only player on the books of a foreign club selected by the Spanish Federation.

Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona have contributed six players each, Real Betis, Real Sociedad and Celta de Vigo two players each, while Real Madrid, Levante, Valencia and Villarreal have one representative each.

Spain will face Ireland on Wednesday, 24 November, tackle Norway two days later and their third match comes up against Netherlands on Sunday, November 28, with Musa in contention to make his international debut.

Should the striker be given minutes in any of the matches, he would be following in the footsteps of Real Madrid academy products Marvin Park and Derik Osede, Racing Genk defender Mujaid Sadick and ex-Valencia midfielder Sunday Stephen who earned caps for Spain's youth teams but remain eligible to represent Nigeria.

A product of St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College, Musa joined Manchester United in July 2021.
