Two unnamed Nigeria Professional Football League players are on the radar of interim Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner has revealed that the local-based players could be included in the provisional Africa Cup of Nations squad provided that the request is granted by the Confederation of African Football.

Erstwhile Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr was heavily criticized for his decision to snub home-based players in majority of  his squad lists, insisting the country's standout players are based abroad.

Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble, Adeleke Adekunle, Ifeanyi Anaemena and Ikechukwu Ezenwa are some of the home-based players who earned call-ups under the tenure of Rohr.

Asked the chances of NPFL players making Nigeria's provisional roster if there's a possibility of altering the list, Eguavoen said : "Yes. We have days to train before the final list will be submitted so it depends on what we see out there.

"There are about two or three players from the NPFL I'm looking at, it doesn't matter their positions."

The Super Eagles will set up a training camp in Nigeria after Christmas as part of their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations.
