'Go make Nigeria proud' — FCT SWAN drums support for Eagles ahead of AFCON
Published: January 05, 2022The Nigeria media has declared it will give the Super Eagles necessarily support needed for them to win the AFCON 2021 which kicks off this weekend in Cameroon.
The Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN), FCT chapter, Bunmi Haruna made this assertion on behalf of journalists in a goodwill message to the Eagles at a send forth ceremony organized by the Federal Government for the team at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Haruna, who is also a CAF license B football coach urged the coach Augustine Eguavoen led team to go and make Nigerians proud in Cameroon.
"The Nigeria media is solidly behind you, we believe you have what it takes to make Nigerians proud," Haruna said.
"We will criticize you when needed, but it will be positively to ensure you deliver on the mandate given to you by President Buhari.
"Go out there and make us proud, Nigerians never forget those who make them happy, they will surely reward you even to generations to come."
He also commended the Minister of Youth and Sports Chief Sunday Dare for organizing the first Eagles AFCON sent forth ceremony in over 30 years.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were also congratulated over the fact that of the the final Super Eagles 28-man squad are 17 players that graduated from the Nigeria youth teams.
