'I'm here to give my best' - Aribo tells fans what to expect ahead of AFCON debut vs Egypt
Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo is set to make his Africa Cup of Nations debut when Nigeria trade tackles with seven-time champions Egypt at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua on Tuesday evening.

Aribo has stressed that the Super Eagles are not in Cameroon to make up the numbers and are targeting winning their fourth African title on February 6.

The 25-year-old is one of Nigeria's most in-form players coming into the Africa Cup of Nations as he is having an excellent season at Rangers, having scored six goals and provided three assists in twenty outings in the Scottish Premiership.

In an interview with OGTV monitored by allngeriasoccer.com, Aribo said : "Everyone is enjoying it, we've got to take every single moment as it comes.

"We have come here, we don't want to just participate, we want to go all the way, we want to do what we can do and that's what I want to do.

"I'm here to give my best and see where it takes us".

The 12-cap Nigeria international has returned to Cameroon, three months after helping the Super Eagles defeat Central African Republic 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier staged in Douala.

On his impressions so far, Aribo said : "It is a lovely city, everyone in the team is happy with the facilities and we are just ready to go now".

Aribo will be aiming to score his first goal for the Super Eagles since October 13, 2019 when he found the net in his second appearance for the national team in a glamour friendly against Brazil.
