Rangers coach provides update on injury suffered by Balogun in 2-0 win vs Hibernian
Rangers put in another strong performance for the second consecutive game, beating Hibernian 2-0 at Ibrox Stadium in a Scottish Premiership clash on Wednesday night.

The champions have responded in a positive manner after their loss to city rivals Celtic, scoring seven goals combined without conceding in the two games.

A first half penalty scored by James Tavernier in the fifth minute and Alfredo Morelos's 57th minute strike ensured the Light Blues took the three points.

Leon Balogun, Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo started again just as was the case in the 5-0 rout of Hearts last weekend but the Super Eagles center back went off injured with only fifteen minutes played.

Balogun has been struggling with injuries since late November and his fitness concerns contributed to his decision to pull out of the Nigeria squad to the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations.

With the injury to the number 26, manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst had to change things early in the game.

Providing an update on Balogun, the Dutch coach said post-match : "I don't know what exactly he has but he couldn't continue so we have to assess him tomorrow and see what he has.

"For him it has been a difficult time, being away through injury many moments in the season and he just came back so hopefully it's not that serious but we have to wait and see."

Interim Nigeria boss Augustine Eguavoen will be monitoring the fitness of Balogun as he has him in his plans for next month's crucial World Cup playoff matches with regional rivals Ghana.
