Nantes' Simon scores sublime free-kick; Rotherham's Ladapo marks return to starting XI with goal
Moses Simon's first half goal was enough for FC Nantes to earn all three points in their French Ligue 1 match against Stade de Reims at the Stade de la Beaujoire - Louis Fonteneau on Sunday afternoon.

Reims manager Oscar García warned his players of the threat posed by the Nigeria international in the build-up to the game but the pacy winger still found the back of the net, albeit not from open play.

Seventeen minutes into the contest, Simon stepped up to fire in a brilliant right-footed free-kick from the edge of the area.

And in doing so, the Super Eagle took his goal involvement this season to nine (3 goals, 6 assists) from twenty appearances in the division.

Elsewhere, former Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo helped EFL League One leaders Rotherham United beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at Hillsborough.

On his recall to the starting lineup after he was an unused substitute for the previous four games, Ladapo broke the deadlock with a poacher's finish after a teammate headed a corner at goal.

The former Crystal Palace striker handed in a transfer request last month in an attempt to force a move away from the Millers before the close of the January transfer window but nothing came out of it.

With his strike against the Owls, Ladapo has tallied thirteen goals from 31 games across all competitions this term.
