Ademola Lookman: The heir to Ahmed Musa in Super Eagles
Before the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa revealed that the tournament was going to be his last AFCON for Nigeria.

The record scorer for Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup is however looking forward to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar which holds November 21 and December 18, 2022.

There were a quite a number of punters who made use of  Ladbrokes sign-up offer and accurately predicted that Musa was going to be Nigeria's key player in Russia 2018 just as he was the Super Eagles' chief goalscorer at the 2014 World Cup.

The 'Alhaji' it must be noted particularly loves scoring against Argentina apparently.

Musa has been a great servant for the Nigerian national teams that he has played for from the U-20 to the senior national team.

The onetime Kano Pillars star has had sojourn in CSKA Moscow (Russia) and Leicester City (England) and is currently in the books of Turkish side, Fatih Karamguruk.

Musa will be missed when he hangs up his boots - for Nigeria - and indeed at club level for his craft, dedication and leadership qualities. And not forgetting his humanitarian nature.

When he does retire from international football at least, there seems to be a capable replacement already in the wings to step into his shoes.

Leicester City winger Ademola Lookman had shown glimpses of the electrifying pace of Musa and has a better goals XG than the Eagles skipper.

The nimble footed forward has scored three league goals for the Foxes in 15 matches while Musa had one in 18.

The former England youth international who was part of the winning U-20 World Cup for the Young Lions is a better shooter from range and is good at taking on takeons against the opposition defenders.

The new Eagles forward played for79 minutes on Thursday, 10 February 2022 in  Leicester City's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool albeit he scored against the Reds in the reverse fixture.

One thing is sure, the future of the Super Eagles is in good hands.
