Super Eagles striker ruled out of Leicester vs Randers Europa Conference League clash
Published: February 17, 2022Danish Superliga side Randers have announced their provisional squad list for Thursday night's Europa League clash against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Coach of Randers, Thomas Thomasberg will not be able to count on two Nigeria-eligible strikers for the showdown against the Foxes.
Super Eagles attacker Stephen Odey is unavailable for selection as he is serving a suspension following the red card he received in the group stage versus FK Jablonec while former Austria U21 international of Nigerian descent Marvin Egho is suffering an injury that has kept him out of the Randers squad.
But there is still huge Nigerian interest in the game as Tosin Kehinide is currently with the Randers squad in the East Midlands and the former Manchester United winger could be up against Leicester City trio Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman.
One of the biggest signings of the season in Danish football, Odeh has scored ten goals in eighteen appearances across all competitions for Randers with two of the strikes coming in a Conference League match against FK Jablonec.
The former Racing Genk and FC Zurich man was a player of interest to erstwhile Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr before the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the German considered naming him on the provisional roster for the tournament in Cameroon before he opted for Peter Olayinka.
Randers will face Leicester City in the reverse fixture at Cepheus Park next Thursday.
