Leicester City goalkeeper Schmeichel denies he made a mistake in build-up to Odey's goal
In the biggest match ever to be staged at Randers Stadium, the Danish Cup winners were beaten 3-1 by Premier League side Leicester City on Thursday evening, with five Nigerian players on parade.

Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman started for the Premier League side, while Randers had Tosin Kehinde and Stephen Odey on the pitch from the blast of the whistle.

Odey, who was previously denied on five or six occasions, finally got his name on the scoresheet in the 83rd minute when he took advantage of a goalkeeping blunder to tap the ball into the net.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has insisted that it should not be categorized as that he made a mistake in the build-up to the consolation goal netted by Randers, pointing out after the match it was solely the fault of the uneven playing surface.

"It does not matter. I can 't do anything about it. When you see it again, you can see it bouncing up, and you may not be ready for that. It's not a mistake. It's just the way it is and it's happening," Schmeichel told TV2 Sport.

"We were aware that on such a course such a thing can happen. It does not matter in the big picture. Of course I would have liked a clean sheet, but those are just some things you can not plan against".

Leicester City advanced 7-2 on aggregate to the round of 16 of the Europa Conference League after winning  the first leg 4-1 at King Power Stadium.
