Inter legend tells Osimhen what he needs to add to his game to be among best strikers in the world
Published: March 08, 2022Inter Milan legend Christian Vieri believes that Victor Osimhen will soon be one of the best strikers in the world.
The 1998 World Cup star revealed what the Napoli star needs to add to his game to be on the same level as the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland. Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.
Osimhen landed at Napoli in the summer of 2020 and since then he has shown glimpses of the quality that made Napoli sign him for a club record fee of 70 million euros.
The 2015 U17 World Cup winner first made his name in Europe with Sporting Charleroi, for whom he scored 20 goals in 36 matches, before sealing a transfer to Lille, where he also stood out with 18 goals in 38 games.
So far this season, he has netted 7 goals in eighteen Serie A appearances and tallied four in five matches in the Europa League before Napoli were eliminated by Barcelona.
Speaking during the broadcast of Napoli vs AC Milan, Vieri said on DAZN : "Osimhen is really good, in a year he will be one of the strongest in the world.
"He needs to improve when he is on the edge of the area, in first shot, in the speed of execution ... If he improves in this type of situation, he becomes one of the best."
Osimhen is expected to play a starring role for the Super Eagles when they take on Ghana in back-to-back World Cup playoff matches later this month.
