Eguavoen proved right as Nigeria 'captain' trains fully with Watford pre-Wolves
Published: March 09, 2022Nigeria's interim boss Augustine Eguavoen has been proved right with confirmation that one of the key players named on his roster for the upcoming games against Ghana, William Troost-Ekong has returned to full training.
Eguavoen exclusively informed allnigeriasoccer.com on Tuesday that he was in touch with Troost-Ekong and the injury was not as bad as we were initially led to believe.
Through their official website, Watford have provided an injury update on their Nigerian center-back before the Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
"Elsewhere William Troost-Ekong makes his return to full training today following a minor groin problem, but tomorrow’s Molineux encounter is likely to come too soon for the Nigeria captain," the Hornets wrote.
Another hurdle to be crossed ahead of the crucial matches with the Black Stars is the match fitness of Troost-Ekong who has been inactive since going the distance against Tunisia at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on January 23.
Upon his return to Hertfordshire, the Tottenham Hotspur academy product was a non-playing substitute in Premier League games against Burnley, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Manchester United.
