'I'm excited to be back' - Etebo reveals mixed emotions after return to action vs Wolves
Published: March 11, 2022Oghenekaro Etebo spoke with a bittersweet taste in his mouth after making his comeback from a long-term injury during Watford's Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday night.
The Nigeria international took to the pitch in the 73rd minute to replace Tom Cleverley in what was his first game for the Hornets in one hundred and sixty six days, having fully recovered from a quad injury.
Though Etebo was delighted to return to action, he was very disappointed with the manner of defeat, with the Hornets conceding four goals without reply.
Etebo's absence was felt with Watford losing fifteen of the twenty one matches in which he was not involved.
"I’m excited to be back, I must say I’m overwhelmed.," Etebo told Watford's official webpage.
"It’s been a long time, five months I’ve been out, so I need to make sure I do all the work well to make sure everything is back to normal.
"Even if I am back on the pitch we are still at the bottom of the table which is not a good result, so though I’m glad to be back I know there’s a lot of work for us to do."

Etebo tasted action in Watford's first six games of the 2021-2022 campaign, helping them collect seven points.
