Watford's Super Eagles defender cleared to return to match action against Southampton
Published: March 12, 2022Watford have wrapped up their preparations for the Premier League clash against Southampton at the St Mary's Stadium.
According to the latest fitness update published by the official website of the Hornets, William Troost-Ekong is seemingly in contention to be included in the matchday squad to face the Saints.
The Super Eagles assistant captain made his return to full training on Thursday, March 9 following a minor groin issue but the encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers came too soon for him.
The good news ahead of the trip to the South Coast was Troost-Ekong being given the all clear to return to action against Southampton.
"Jeremy Ngakia (hamstring) and William Troost-Ekong (groin) are both fit and available for selection this weekend," Watford wrote.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations star has made sixteen appearances in this season's Premier League, the last of which came against his former club Tottenham Hotspur on New Year's Day.
