On-loan Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent named in latest Norway U19 squad
Published: March 14, 2022On-loan Chelsea striker Bryan Fiabema has been named in the latest Norway U19 squad, according to the official website of the Norway Football Federation.
Born to a Norwegian mother and Nigerian father, the 2003-born player sealed a loan move to Eliteserien giants Rosenborg earlier this month and has gone on to make his unofficial debut for the club.
The Norway U19s were originally supposed to face Ukraine, Serbia and the Netherlands in the elite round of the European Championship qualifiers in the Netherlands at the end of March, but the four countries have agreed with UEFA that the qualifiers will be postponed until the first week in June.
The Norway U19 squad will hold a training camp in Oslo March 21-24 and will play a friendly match against Skeid on Wednesday March 23.
Fiabema has represented Norway at U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels, scoring seventeen goals combined for the age group teams.
The 19-year-old has notched four goals in U19 EURO qualifying including a hat-trick against Kosovo last October.
