Nigeria handed fitness boost pre-Ghana as Aribo is named in Rangers provisional squad vs Red Star
Nigeria have been handed a major fitness boost ahead of their upcoming World Cup playoff match with Ghana as one of the players tipped to start, Joe Aribo has returned to training with his Scottish club Rangers, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Nigeria number 10 was previously rated as doubtful for next Friday's clash against the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi after he sustained an injury during Rangers' 3-0 rout of Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on March 10.

Aribo didn't recover in time to make the Light Blues squad for the Scottish Cup match with Dundee FC at the weekend.

Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst monitored the Nigeria central midfielder at close quarters during training on Wednesday morning and decided to include him in the traveling squad to Belgrade.

Aribo was spotted boarding a flight to Belgrade from the Glasgow Airport after the training session.

Central defenders Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey, who have both been named in the Super Eagles latest squad, also traveled with the squad to the Serbian capital.
