'It's so unlike Kelechi' - Ex-Arsenal striker reacts to Iheanacho's miss in Leicester win vs Bees
Published: March 20, 2022Leicester City returned to winning ways by beating Brentford 2-1 at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon to move into the top half of the Premier League table.
Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman were not included in Leicester City's matchday squad, there was a start for Kelechi Iheanacho, while Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka was a non-playing substitute.
Timothy Castagne's stunner put the Foxes ahead in the 20th minute and a brilliant free-kick from James Maddison doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute, before Yoane Wissa beat the goalkeeper with a wonderful strike of his own with five minutes to go.
Six minutes into the second half, Leicester City could have put the game out of sight when Iheanacho tried to lob the goalkeeper but saw his effort go narrowly wide.
Former Arsenal striker Paul Dickov was surprised by the miss from the Leicester City number 14 given his goalscoring pedigree in recent seasons.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Dickov said : "He did everything right [until the finish] and it is so unlike Kelechi. He tried to dink it, it is a poor, poor miss."
Iheanacho has scored once in four appearances against Brentford, when his fourth minute strike sent the Bees out of the Emirates FA Cup in January 2020.
