Eagles camp update : Aribo, Bassey, Dennis on same British Airways flight to Abuja; Bonke also in camp
Published: March 22, 2022Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Glasgow Rangers duo Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey, and Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis landed in Abuja on Tuesday morning ahead of the national team's 2022 World Cup playoff match with the Black Stars of Ghana.
The three players were on the same British Airways flight that landed in Abuja at approximately 0600 hours on Tuesday morning.
The third Rangers player invited, Leon Balogun already reported for international duty on Monday, March 21.
Lorient midfielder Innocent Bonke, who was handed a late call-up as a replacement for Wilfred Ndidi, is the fourth player that linked up with the squad on Tuesday.
One of the first names on the Super Eagles teamsheet, Ndidi pulled out of the roster due to a serious knee injury he sustained in the second half of Leicester City's Europa Conference League clash at Rennes last Thursday.
With seventeen invitees now in camp, everything is pointing to the fact that interim manager Augustine Eguavoen will begin running the rule over the players later today.
The eight players still being awaited as at the time of writing this report are Maduka Okoye, Kenneth Omeruo, Zaidu Sanusi, Akinkunmi Amoo, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Umar
Sadiq and Ademola Lookman.
