Published: May 06, 2022Joe Aribo has been named in Whoscored.com's Europa League Team of the Week following the conclusion of the semifinal, second leg matches on Thursday night.
Against RB Leipzig at Ibrox Stadium, the Nigeria international was forced off injured on the stroke of halftime after making a brave block with his head from a powerful free-kick.
His forty five minutes display was enough to earn him a spot on the Europa League Team of the Week.
Joining Aribo on the Team of the Week are five other Rangers players in defenders James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic, midfielders Glen Kamara and Ryan Jack.
The Light Blues reached the final of the Europa League after a 3-1 win over the German Bundesliga side with Tavernier, Kamara and John Lundstram getting their names on the scoresheet.
Prior to Aribo's substitution, he registered one shot, won a team-high two fouls, made one tackle and blocked a shot.
The Rangers number 17 won three aerial duels, was accurate in 71.4 percent of his passes and registered 24 touches.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Aribo was partnered in attack by Eintracht Frankfurt's Rafael Borré.
