In England, Paul Onuachu finally opened his goal account for the season, scoring in Southampton's 3-2 loss to high-flying Nottingham Forest.
Onuachu struck in the 91st minute to reduce the deficit, but the Saints couldn’t find an equalizer.
Also, teammate Lesley Ugochukwu, on loan from Chelsea, was instrumental in setting up Southampton’s first goal, assisting Jan Bednarek's finish in the 60th minute.
For Forest, Super Eagles defender Ola Aina also shone, recording his first assist of the season by setting up Chris Wood’s goal, which sealed the first-half dominance for Forest.
Meanwhile, in France, Moses Simon continued his impressive form for Nantes in their Ligue 1 clash against Saint Etienne.
Simon opened the scoring in the 14th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error. However, Augustine Boakye equalized late for Saint Etienne, leaving Nantes to settle for a 1-1 draw.
The goal was Simon's fifth in 16 appearances this campaign.
Meanwhile, it was a disappointing outing for Super Eagles defender Gabriel Osho, who was sent off in the first half of Angers SCO’s 2-0 victory over Auxerre.
On a brighter note, Emanuel Emegha delivered a standout performance for Strasbourg, scoring in the first half of their 1-1 draw against Olympique Marseille.
The forward nearly secured a winner but was denied by the woodwork in the closing stages.
In the Netherlands, Chuba Akpom continued his resurgence with Ajax, netting in the 86th minute to secure a 2-0 victory over Heerenveen.
The former Arsenal man calmed nerves after sustained pressure from the hosts.
In Scotland, Cyriel Dessers responded to recent criticism with a sensational hat-trick in Rangers' 5-0 Scottish Cup thrashing of Fraserburgh.
The Super Eagles striker scored in the 27th, 57th, and 90th minutes, silencing doubters and reminding fans of his quality.
Finally, in the Belgian Pro League, Promise David continued to impress for Union Saint Gilloise, scoring his 10th league goal of the season.
The 23-year-old converted a penalty to secure a 1-0 win over OH Leuven, further cementing his reputation as one of the league's top scorers.
