Three observations from Flying Eagles impressive 2-0 win over defending AFCON champions Ghana
Published: May 09, 2022The WAFU Group B game between Nigeria and Ghana which serves as qualifiers to the CAF U-20 Nations Cup which ultimately will produce Africa's representatives at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2023 ended in Nigeria's favor with a 2-0 win.
The Black Satellites are the defending champions of both the WAFU-UFOA Zone B and U20 AFCON
Below are the things observed in the game by allnigeriasoccer.com :
1. Excellent Buildups
The Flying Eagles were a joy to watch when they build from the back. Their understanding is there to see. Thumbs up must be given to Ladan Bosso who had to assemble the team in a short period of time.
2. Ghana Wake-up Call
The Ghanaians were ultra defensive in the first half but came out of their shell to attack the Flying Eagles in the second half.
This was while the Eagles led 1-0. The second goal by the Nigerians however deflated the Black Satellites.
3. Support From Nigerian Fans
It is always a good thing to see Nigerian fans at international tournaments supporting their national teams.
That was the case in Niamey on Sunday evening as Nigerians based in the Nigerien capital were present at the General Seyni Kountche Stadium to sing and drum up support for the Flying Eagles.
