Osimhen must score two goals on final day of the season to trigger goal bonus of N56.2m
Published: May 15, 2022Victor Osimhen scored his 18th goal in all competitions this season as Napoli thrashed Genoa 3-0 at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Sunday afternoon to be assured of at least a third place finish in the 2021-2022 Serie A season.
Fourteen minutes in, the Nigeria international broke the deadlock with a headed goal after a delightful cross from Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
In the second half, Lorenzo Insigne, from the spot, gave the Blues a 2-0 lead and Stanislav Lobotka wrapped up the scoring.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, via Napoli Calcio Live, Osimhen's contract with Napoli includes a 130,000 euros (approximately N56.2 million) bonus for reaching 20 goals this season.
To trigger the bonus-related clause, the Super Eagles star has to score at least two goals in Napoli's final game of the season against Spezia on May 22.
Osimhen has bagged five braces in his Napoli career, against Spezia, Leicester City, Sampdoria, Hellas Verona and Udinese.
This season, the 2015 U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner has notched fourteen goals in the Serie A and four were in the UEFA Europa League.
