Match preview

Peseiro will be leading the Super Eagles out for the second time having suffered a 2-1 defeat in his first official game against Mexico at the AT &T Stadium.

He will no doubt be hoping for his first win of his Nigeria career.

Nigeria and Ecuador have never met before and the upcoming game will be the first time the Super Eagles and El Tricolor will be playing against each other.

What to expect

After a loss to Mexico in his first Super Eagles game, Peseiro would be inclined to go with a more attacking approach.

Ecuador's Argentine manager Gustavo Julio Alfaro prefers a 4-3-3 formation and utilises quick, direct passes to the flanks in offensive transition, with one of the central midfielders usually trying to spread the play wide.

With a blueprint of starting two strikers up top with one joining midfield play, Peseiro may likely adopt his tactics to try and compress the space available on the flanks. However, much will rely on which team tried to take the initiative first.

With players like Enner Valencia, Michael Estrada, Moises Caicedo, and Pervis Estupiñán, there is enough pace to threaten Nigeria's fragile backline.

Fans can expect a tactical battle and quick offensive transitions between two experienced managers with both of them switching their formations and tactical blueprints from time to time.

Kickoff time/Venue

The match will kickoff at 2030 hours New Jersey time (01:30 hours in Nigeria Friday) at the Red Bull Arena Stadium situated in New Jersey.
