Nigeria squad announcement : Ex-Chelsea stars, Arsenal product, Rangers duo, 2 NPFL stars called up
Published: June 04, 2022The Nigeria Football Federation have announced the final roster for the Super Eagles 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Sierra Leone and São Tomé and Príncipe this month.
An analysis of the roster revealed that three goalkeepers, ten defenders, five midfielders and nine strikers have been summoned for the back-to-back matches, bringing the total number of invited players to 27.
The Nigerian Federation have confirmed that Hapoel Jerusalem glovesman Adebayo Adeleye has received his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles.

Former Chelsea stars Kenneth Omeruo and Ola Aina, Arsenal product Alex Iwobi and ex-Gunners U21 skipper Semi Ajayi have been included on the roster, as have Rangers duo Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo.
From the team that traveled to the United States for the recent friendlies, Akwa United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka and Katsina United's Sani Faisal are the only players based in the Nigeria Professional Football League retained in the squad.
Peseiro will be without the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Jamilu Collins, Chidera Ejuke and Taiwo Awoniyi, all of whom were in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations squad list.
