Nigeria U17 squad announcement : Uzoho's sibling who's also a GK named to WAFU B roster
Published: June 07, 2022The Nigeria Football Federation have announced the squad list for the seven-nation WAFU B U17 Championship that begins on Saturday in Cape Coast, Ghana.
Manager of five-time world champions Nigeria, Nduka Ugbade has selected three goalkeepers, five defenders, six midfielders and six strikers in a 20-man squad.
Perhaps the most eye-catching name on the list is Pascal Uzoho, the younger brother of Francis Uzoho and he's also a goalkeeper just like the Super Eagles star.
Five players namely Utibe Silas, Abdullahi Buhari, Abubakar Shaibu, Tijjani Mohammed and Stephen Emmanuel have been placed on standby.
The Golden Eaglets and Black Starlets will set the tournament rolling on Saturday with a potentially -explosive encounter at the Stade Cape Coast starting from 4pm Ghana time (5pm Nigeria time).
Their second match is against Togo's U17 boys on Tuesday next week, also at the Stade Cape Coast.
The two finalists from the tournament in Cape Coast will represent the WAFU B zone at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations billed for Algeria early next year, from where all four semi finalists will qualify for the FIFA U17 World Cup finals in Peru.

Midfielders: Basil Mbata, Ebube Okere, Tochukwu Ogbabido, Richard Uche, Ozor Okeke, Raphael Oyebanjo
Forwards: Umar Abubakar, Kevwe Iyede, Light Eke, Abubakar Abdullahi, Jubril Azeez, Precious Williams
