'It's important we select the best' - Peseiro reveals what needs to be done to win big games
Published: June 12, 2022Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro has revealed what needs to be done for the Super Eagles to emerge victorious in key games.
With a rich pool of players at his disposal, the Portuguese football tactician has underlined that only the best must be selected for important matches.
Peseiro is targeting another three points when the Super Eagles face off with the Falcons and True Parrots' of São Tomé and Príncipe on Monday afternoon in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier after beating Sierra Leone 2-1 in his first competitive game in the dugout.
"We want to be the team at the top of the table, so we must fight hard against the opponents. Every match, we must commit ourselves fully to winning it," Peseiro said.
"As I said earlier in the week, Nigeria have huge pedigree and they also have both quality and quantity of players.
"It is important that we select the best all the time to win the big games."
The Super Eagles players and officials landed in the southern Moroccan city of Agadir on Sunday morning.
The Air Peace airline's Embraer 195 E2 which has flown the team to a number of match venues including from Morocco when they defeated Liberia in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match in Tangier, touched down at the Aeroport Agadir Almarissa at exactly 8.15am on Sunday, with a total of 25 players and technical and administrative crew.
