Nigeria U-17 national team the Golden Eaglets on Tuesday evening booked their place in the semifinals of the WAFU Zone B tournament in Cape Coast, Ghana with a 3-1 win over Togo reports All Nigeria Soccer.
The Eaglets went ahead through Kevwe Iyede in the 11th minute who finished brilliantly after Precious Williams' attempted dink of the ball.
The Nigerian lads doubled their lead in the 23rd minute through Precious Williams who profited from a fantastic through pass from Ebube Okere.
Before the half time break, Iyede had a chance to score his second of the game but his touch at the near post saw the ball go agonisisinly wide off target.
Togo were a much improved side in the second half and it paid off 15 minutes before full time when right back Komi Ahouankpo scored from a free kick from well over 30 yards from goal.
Substitute Light Eke made it impossible of any late upset by the French speaking west African rivals as he headed the ball past an advancing keeper moments after he was stopped by the goalkeeper.
