Globe Soccer Awards : Osimhen battles Arsenal and Barca stars,16 others for Emerging POTY
Published: October 21, 2022Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is in contention to be named the Power Horse Emerging Player of the Year at the 2022 Globe Soccer Awards.
The Nigeria international is up against nineteen other promising youngsters for the accolade, including Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, Barcelona duo Gavi and Pedri.
Half of the candidates nominated for the Emerging POTY represent German Bundesliga and Spanish La Liga clubs, with Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Ryan Gravenberch (Bayern Munich), Joško Gvardiol (RB Leipzig), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich), Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen), Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Federico Valverde (Real Madrid) and Ilaix Moriba (Valencia) all in the running for the prize.
Completing the shortlist are Hareb Abdulla, Julian Alvarez, Francisco Conceição, Rafael Leao, Nuno Mendes, Gabriel Veron, Vitinha and Dušan Vlahović.
Since the start of 2022, Osimhen has been one of the standout young players in the world, with eighteen goals in thirty appearances combined for club and country.
The 13th edition of the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards is being held on 17 November 2022.
This year’s event will anticipate the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and will crown the footballers, coaches, managers, agents and promising players who have distinguished themselves both on and off the pitch in the past season.
