Serie A : Osimhen highest scoring Nigerian in history; Okereke scores sensational goal; Lookman strikes
Published: November 05, 2022Three Nigerian strikers were on target in the Italian Serie A on Saturday corresponding to the thirteenth round of matches.
Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman continued their fine form in a top of the table clash.
Napoli defeated Atalanta 2-1 at the Gewiss Stadium (Bergamo), with Osimhen and Lookman scoring for their respective clubs.
Lookman opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 19th minute but four minutes later, Osimhen restored parity for the visitors.
The 23-year-old would go on to set up Elif Elmas to score Napoli's second of the night.
Osimhen is now the highest goal scoring Nigerian in the history of the Italian top-flight with 32 goals, overtaking Simy Nwankwo who has 31.
Cremonese, without Cyriel Dessiers in their squad, drew 2-2 with Salernitana at the Stadio Arechi (Salerno).
It was such a fast start for Salernitana as Krzysztof Piatek got the opening goal inside three minutes but David Okereke netted a wonder goal to restore parity for the visitors.
On 12 minutes, the former Nigeria U23 international scored a sensational goal from just outside the box, volleying a shot that flew into the back of the net
Mali midfielder Lassana Coulibaly restored the one-goal lead seven minutes before halftime, but Ciofani tapped the ball into an empty net in the 89th minute to rescue a point for Cremonese.
