Confirmed team news : Ex-Nigeria U23 midfielder ruled out of Watford's trip to Norwich City
Published: January 01, 2023Watford manager Slaven Bilić will not be able to count on the services of Tom Dele-Bashiru when his side face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Monday, January 2, 2023.
The Hornets confirmed through their official website that the central midfielder sustained ankle ligament damage during the Championship match against Swansea City on Friday.
The former Nigeria U23 international was forced off injured in the 70th minute, making way for James Morris.
Dele-Bashiru, one of ten Watford first teamers currently sidelined by injury, is set for at least a couple of months on the sidelines.
The Manchester City academy product has had a poor injury record this term, having missed twenty games in all competitions due to fitness issues.
Dele-Bashiru suffered a lateral collateral ligament problem in training ahead of Watford’s home clash against Burnley in August, which kept him on the sidelines for a period of two months.
He was out of action for the majority of the 2020-2021 season after injuring his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
