Ajax Amsterdam scouts watch Super Eagles striker score 15th goal of the season
Published: January 09, 2023Racing Genk resumed their campaign in the Belgian Pro League in the best possible way, beating reigning champions Club Brugge 3-1 at the Cegeka Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Nigeria international Paul Onuachu picked up where he left off by getting on the score sheet for the Limburg club.
Midway through the second half, the lanky forward fired past goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to give Racing Genk the lead for the first time in the game, taking his tally to fifteen goals in all competitions.
According to the online edition of Voetbal International, Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam sent scouts to watch the game between Racing Genk and Club Brugge.
The Dutch football magazine has suggested that Elephants central defender Loubadhe Abakar Sylla is the likely target but the scouting report on the Club Brugge star will probably not be positive in terms of discipline.
Sylla took the walk of shame in the 75th minute when he picked up his second yellow card for dissent after fouling Onuachu.
The Ajax scouts also watched another Nigerian attack-minded player in Yira Sor who played for two minutes on his Racing Genk debut.
