'Osimhen as decisive as Maradona' - Ex-Napoli No. 9 gives Super Eagles star best possible praise
Published: January 12, 2023Former Napoli number 9, Bruno Giordano has given Victor Osimhen the best possible praise after claiming that the Nigeria international is as decisive as Napoli and Argentina legend Diego Maradona.
All eyes will be on Osimhen on Friday night as Napoli do battle with Juventus in a Serie A showdown at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Heading into the fixture, Napoli have won fourteen and drawn two of their seventeen league matches this season, with Osimhen accounting for ten of their thirty nine goals, making him the top scorer in the division.
The 24-year-old is in the best form of his career since his move to Italy, highlighted by the fact that he has either scored or assisted in all but one of his last eight league games for the Naples outfit.
Bruno Giordano reckons that Osimhen's goalscoring form will be decisive against Juventus and also praised his striker for his physicality and stamina.
"Osimhen as decisive as Maradona. This Napoli is a team that creates many goal chances. There are many players capable of magic, but right now Osimhen is experiencing an extraordinary moment," Giordano said to Il Mattino, via CalcioNews24.
"He has grown a lot. He has incredible tenacity. He never spares himself and his way of living the game seems like that of a player from another era, one who spends every last drop of sweat on the pitch."
Osimhen has yet to find the back of the net in his three previous appearances against Juventus.
