'Very good player' - Ex-Barcelona CB admits it's difficult to defend against Terem Moffi
Published: February 06, 2023Former Barcelona central defender Jean-Clair Todibo was full of praise for his new teammate at OGC Nice Terem Moffi shortly before the start of the Ligue 1 match at Marseille, saying it is difficult to defend against the Nigeria international.
Moffi was linked with a plethora of clubs in the winter transfer market, but it was OGC Nice that won the race for his signature on transfer deadline day in January.
The 23-year-old made his full debut against one of his suitors last month, Marseille on Sunday, lining up alongside Todibo for the first time in his career.
Moffi faced Todibo in the Ligue 1 three times during his Lorient days and even though he wasn't on the scoresheet in any of the games, the Frenchman was impressed with his attacking ability.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, via Le10sport, Todibo said : "Is it difficult to defend against Terem Moffi? Back to the game, he is a very very good player. He keeps the ball a lot.
"He stretched our lines a lot. I think stopping him is complicated, because in the box he's a killer. You shouldn't leave too much space.
"It was hard to defend against him, but unfortunately for him, he never scored against us "
Moffi netted in his first appearance against OGC Nice in December 2020 but Todibo was still a player of Barcelona as at that time.
