Cremonese's Super Eagles striker Dessers drawing interest from French Ligue 1 club
Published: March 09, 2023Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers is being linked with a departure from Cremonese in the summer.
According to Sportal.it, the striker is attracting interest from French Ligue 1 club Stade Brestois 29 and it is claimed that the Pirates will go all out to sign him if they avoid relegation at the end of the season.
Twelve matches to the end of the season, Brest have garnered 23 points, just one point from the relegation zone.
Unlike last season where he made a splash in the inaugural edition of the Europa Conference League, Dessers has struggled since his arrival at Cremonese.
He is no longer a guaranteed starter these days with only one start in the last seven Serie A games, though he missed two of those games as a result of injury.
Dessers showed he has not entirely lost his scoring touch by coming off the bench to score a brace in Cremonese's 3-2 loss to Sassuolo in the latest round of matches in the Serie A, to take his tally to six goals in twenty appearances across all competitions for the Grigiorossi.
The former Racing Genk and Feyenoord Rotterdam striker has a contract with Cremonese until June 30, 2027.
