Super Eagles striker Moffi scores and assists for OGC Nice against Nantes
Published: March 12, 2023Terem Moffi was on the scoresheet and supplied an assist for Nice as they battled to a 2-2 draw with Nantes in a Ligue 1 match at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday.
The Super Eagles forward has now netted 15 goals in 24 appearances in the Ligue 1 this season but this was only his third goal for Nice.
Moffi gave Nice the lead in the 5th minute through a bullet header from Ross Barkley's corner kick.
Former Tottenham midfielder, Moussa Sissoko drew level for Nantes in the 31st minute after he nodded past Nice goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel from a Ludovic Blas' free kick.
Moffi should have given Nice the lead but his effort was denied by Nantes' goalkeeper Alban Lafont.
It was Youssouf Ndayishimiye who gave Nice the lead again in the 71st minute from a Moffi's assist.
A goal from Mostafa Mohamed from Joao Victor's deflected cross three minutes before the end of the regulation time would deny Nice the three maximum points.
Apart from his goal, Moffi contributed defensively, winning five of his eight ground duels.
With three goals in his last three games, Moffi is rediscovering his early season form when he twelve goals in the colours of Lorient.
