Super Eagles striker gets four-match ban for violent conduct in Czech Republic

Czech Republic-based Super Eagles star Peter Olayinka has been slammed with a four-match ban following his unsportsmanlike behavior against Slovan Liberec in the last round of matches before the international break.

Olayinka has been in brilliant form for Slavia Prague, recording 10 goals and 5 assists in 18 league games, and he is spearheading the red and whites' charge for the title.

The Nigerian forward was red-carded in Slavia's last league game against Liberec after he was adjudged to have headbutted Gigli Ndefe, Liberec's right-back.

The proof of his conviction is contained in a statement from the Chairman of the disciplinary committee, Richard Baček.

Just as in previous cases, the disciplinary committee decided based on the minutes of the match, the report of the delegate and the video recording of the match. The player Olayinka committed a misdemeanor, on the basis of which he was threatened with a penalty of banning his activity for up to two months, i.e. for up to eight competitive matches".

However, he got a milder punishment because he had not been previously red-carded, attended the disciplinary committee meeting and regretted his action.

The 27-year-old will miss Slavia Prague's cup match against Bohemians, league matches against Sigma Olomouc, Mladá Boleslav and the Prague derby against Sparta Prague.
