Spartak Moscow react to reports linking former Chelsea star Victor Moses with departure
Published: May 22, 2023Spartak Moscow, through their press chief Dmitry Zelenov, have responded to speculation linking Victor Moses with a departure from the Russian Premier League club when the transfer window reopens.
The future of the 2017 Premier League winner with Chelsea remains unclear with reports suggesting that he could be leaving the Red and Whites at the end of the 2022-2023 season, a year before his contract expires.
Turkey has been mentioned as a possible destination for Moses but Fenerbahce have insisted that the versatile midfielder is not a player of interest.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner spent approximately one year at Feberbahce on loan from Chelsea, scoring five goals in 23 appearances in all competitions, before heading to Italy to reunite with Antonio Conte at Inter Milan in January 2020.
Reacting to rumours about the possible departure of Moses, Zelenov said to Sport Express: "Victor is a Spartak player, he wants to help Spartak. He proves it in word and deed."
Moses initially joined Spartak Moscow on loan in October 2020 and was offered a full deal the following season, which ended his nine-year association with Chelsea.
The 32-year-old has registered eighteen goal involvements (9 goals, 9 assists) in 63 matches as a Spartak Moscow player.
