South Korea U20 boss hints at one major advantage Flying Eagles have over Red Devils
Published: June 03, 2023South Korea U20 manager Kim Eun-jung has suggested that the Flying Eagles have one major advantage over the Asian side ahead of Sunday evening's quarterfinal clash at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades, Santiago del Estero.
The Red Devils caused an upset by defeating Ecuador 3-2 in a round of 16 clash on Thursday, June 1.
Comparatively, Nigeria defeated host and six-time champions Argentina on Wednesday, meaning the Flying Eagles will have had an extra day of rest ahead of the upcoming quarterfinal match, something which has been pointed out by Eun-jung.
Few hours after South Korea's physically demanding win against Ecuador, the Flying Eagles arrived the city of Santiago Del Estero to begin preparations for the quarterfinal match against the Asians.
In quotes relayed by Monthly People, Eun-jung stated: "I don’t think there is a next time. We have to match everything against Nigeria.
"Nigeria had one more day off than we did, so I think we should focus on recovering as well".
The Flying Eagles beat South Korea 1-0 in the last meeting between both countries at this level, with a certain Olarenwaju Kayode grabbing the game-winning goal after eight minutes.
Tomorrow's last eight tie will kickoff at 1830 hours at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades, Santiago del Estero.
