African centre-forward joins Chelsea subject to medical
Published: June 23, 2023
The transfer of Senegal international centre-forward Nicolas Jackson to Premier League side Chelsea is imminent, with the player already agreeing personal terms and scheduled to undergo a medical.
Newly appointed Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has given his green light for Jackson's transfer to the Blues.
According to transfer market guru Frabrizio Romano, Chelsea have reached a full agreement to sign the African .
Romano added that Villarreal accepted Chelsea to pay just a bit more than the €35m release clause but better payment terms using installments
Jackson was in excellent form for Villarreal at the back end of last season, scoring nine goals and registering two assists in the last eight games in La Liga.
The 22-year-old was set to join Bournemouth in the January transfer window, only for the move to collapse at the last minute after he failed a medical.
Jackson played for less than five minutes in Senegal's 4-2 win over Brazil three days ago to avoid him suffering an injury before his switch to Chelsea.
Villarreal are set to make a huge profit from the sale of Jackson to Chelsea considering the fact that they signed the player from Casa Sports for less than one million euros.
