Published: August 03, 2023Golden Eaglets hat-trick hero at the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup, Ibrahim Said has won the Danish Superliga Goal of the Month award for his long-range strike against Lyngby BK
The Nigeria youth teamer scored in the 76th minute to salvage a point for Viborg FF in a 2-2 draw against Lyngby BK on matchday two in the division on July 28.
Said scored a Goal of the season contender with an unstoppable shot from long range after a clearance by the Lyngby defence fell to him.
The Dabo Babes Academy product saw off competition from Ernest Nuamah (Nordsjælland), Cho Gue-Sung (FC Midtjylland) and Bashkim Kadrii (Odense Boldklub) to win the Goal of the Month prize for July 2023.
Said has started the season in fine form, registering an assist on the opening match day before getting on the scoresheet versus Lyngby.
The 21-year-old was named in the Danish Superliga Team of the Round for matchday two but missed out on the Team of the Month.
Overall, he has recorded 67 appearances since joining Viborg in October 2020 and has eighteen goal involvements (9 goals, 9 assists) to his name.
Said started every single game played by the Golden Eaglets at the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup and his standout performance came against Ecuador in the group stage, with the winger scoring three goals.
