'It's going to be a hard game' - Super Falcons RB Alozie admits ahead of showdown v England
Published: August 05, 2023Super Falcons flamboyant right back Michelle Alozie has said that they are ready to face England in the round of 16 of the FIFA Women's World Cup.
Alozie has been one of the standout players for Nigeria, playing in all three matches without being substituted while her blistering space, energy and industry have gained her a lot of fans.
The African powerhouse will face the European champions on Monday in the first knockout game ever involving both sides and the second meeting involving both teams at the World Cup.
They were second in Group B with five points while the Lionesses finished first in Group D with 9 points.
Alozie while speaking on her expectations ahead of the encounter said that they have been up against tough opposition since the start of the tournament and will be ready to face England
"It's going to be a hard game, we've had hard games just like this whole entire time, starting with Canada, so we expect nothing less ," she told NFF TV.
"It is obviously a knockout round, we are ready to put a battle and we expect a battle from them and we will give them everything we have."
The game is going to take place at the Brisbane Stadium in the early hours of Monday morning.
The winner of the encounter will advance to the quarterfinal to face the victor between Columbia and Jamaica.
