2019 Golden Eaglets invitee agrees deal with Charlton after departure from Chelsea
Published: August 13, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that EFL League One club Charlton Athletic are on the verge of confirming the signing of 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Prince Adegoke.
Adegoke has already taken to social media to bid farewell to Chelsea ahead of his imminent transfer to The Addicks.
Charlton Athletic have handed the promising goalkeeper a one-year contract, with the option of an additional season, following a successful trial.
The Addicks have pulled off a massive transfer coup to land the services of Adegoke, seeing off competition from clubs above them in the English football pyramid.
Prior to agreeing terms with the League One club, Adegoke was on the radar of Premier League new boys Luton Town and Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers.
Peterborough United also explored the possibility of signing the 2003-born goalkeeper but he preferred a move to Charlton Athletic over his other suitors.
Adegoke started his football career at local Sunday league side Glebe, from where he joined Chelsea at the age of 12 on schoolboy terms.
He represented Chelsea youth team in the U18 Premier League, U18 Premier League Cup and FA Youth Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.
