Ex-Man Utd striker Ighalo undergoes medical with Saudi Pro League club ahead of unveiling
Published: August 14, 2023Odion Ighalo's transfer to Saudi Arabian Pro League club Al Wehda is imminent, according to reports.
Sky Sports UK is reporting that the former Manchester United attacker has undergone a medical with Al Wehda ahead of his unveiling.
If all goes well, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot winner will put pen to paper on a two-year contract, until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Ighalo is switching to Al Wehda as a free agent after failing to agree terms with Al Hilal on a contract extension.
The 34-year-old spent one and a half seasons at Al Hilal, scoring 43 goals and notching seven assists in 60 appearances across all competitions.
Ighalo is a household name in the Saudi Pro League, having won the top scorer award in the division for the 2021-2022 season, and was a key member of the Al Hilal squad that won the league in 2022.
Last season, he ranked third in the scoring charts with 19 goals, two less than Golden Boot winner, Al Ittihad's Abderrazak Hamdallah.
