Published: September 01, 2023Through their official website, Chelsea have announced that talented striker of Nigerian descent, Louis Flower has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove.
Flower has departed Chelsea without making his debut for the first team but featured regularly for the U18s over the last two seasons and registered two appearances in the EFL Trophy.
Flower will initially start his Brighton & Hove career with the U21 team and can be registered on the club's Premier League roster as an U21 player/scholar.
The 18-year-old joined Chelsea academy from Cambridge United at U13 level, rising through the youth team ranks before going professional in October 2021.
Overall, he made 34 appearances for the Blues in the U18 Premier League, scoring 11 goals, and played in four games in the UEFA Youth League while making three appearances in the FA Youth Cup.
Flower will bring versatility to the Brighton U21 squad as he is comfortable playing as a center forward and on both flanks.
Brighton & Hove have 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Odel Offiah in their U21 ranks but the central defender has been loaned out to Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian for the 2023-2024 campaign.
