Video: Fleet-footed winger Simon produces outrageous assist for Nantes fourth goal v Lorient
Published: September 26, 2023Super Eagles winger Moses Simon put in an impressive display by notching one goal and two assists to help Nantes beat Lorient 5-3 on Saturday on matchday six of the Ligue 1 played at Stade de la Beaujoire on Saturday, September 23.
The highlight of his performance was his outrageous assist for Florent Mollet's goal which put the score at 4-2.
In the 83rd minute, the fleet-footed winger mesmerized his marker before laying a perfect pass to Mollet who only had to tap the ball into the net.
He bagged his first goal contribution of the game in the 42nd minute when he assisted Matthis Albine with a simple pass to restore parity for the Canaries after Eli Junior Kroupi put Lorient in front.
The Nigeria international finally got himself on the score sheet via a penalty eight minutes into the extra time of the second half having sent Cameroon-born goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo the wrong way.
Unsurprisingly, Simon was named in whoscored.com's Ligue 1 Team of the Week following his impressive showing against Les Merlus.
