Most shots without scoring in this season's UCL: Napoli striker Osimhen leads the way
Published: October 05, 2023
Super Eagles center forward Victor Osimhen and Manchester City ace Erling Haaland have taken the most shots in the UEFA Champions League this season without scoring.
According to the revered statistical website, Whoscored.com, Osimhen has recorded 13 shots in Napoli's first two games in the Champions League this season and is yet to find the back of the net.
This figure is the most in competition with Haaland in close second with 12 shots attempted without registering a goal.
The Nigerian forward and his Norwegian counterpart are two of the leading strikers in Europe at the moment and it is surprising to see them top this chart.
Last season, Osimhen scored 5 goals in 6 games in the Champions League but is yet to find the back of the net this campaign with his only goal contribution being an assist he recorded in Napoli's 2-1 win over Braga.
Haaland was the top scorer of the competition last season with 12 goals but has not been able to get off the mark this campaign.
