Super Falcons defender in contention to make Champions League debut against Manchester United

Super Falcons defender Nicole Payne is in contention to make her UEFA Women's Champions League debut on Tuesday night when Paris Saint-Germain Féminine face off with Manchester United in a round 2 clash at Leigh Sports Village.

Nicole, younger sister of 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup star Toni Payne, joined the Parisians in July 2023, signing a contract until June 2026.

She made her competitive debut for PSG in their 2-0 loss to Lyon in a  Trophée des Championnes Féminin clash on September 10.

Since then, Payne has not been called up for back-to-back games in the Feminine Division 1 against Bordeaux, Lyon and Saint-Étienne.

However, she could be involved in some capacity against Manchester United tonight having traveled with the PSG squad to England.

Nicole Payne was a member of the Super Falcons squad to the 2022 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations but was left out of the World Cup roster.

She played for Atlanta-based Concorde Fire before joining West Virginia University, for whom she scored 4 goals in 53 matches across three years.

After representing her country of birth, United States at youth level, she committed her international future to African powerhouse Nigeria and made her debut in a friendly against Jamaica in 2021.
